I had a perfectly normal developer portfolio for a while.
It had generous whitespace. It had cards. It had a headline that was probably some variation of “I build delightful digital experiences.” Very clean. Very employable. Completely interchangeable with every SaaS landing page assembled after 2022.
So I deleted the vibe and installed clownOS.
The actual point of this place
I keep making things because an idea gets stuck in my head and apparently the only treatment is a new repository.
Spell the Hive is a multilingual word game. Mothlit tracks TV and movies. Hex & Honey is what happens when a spelling bee spends too much time around roguelikes. Future projects will probably make this list even less coherent.
Good. Coherence is for venture portfolios.
Arid Clown is the folder where all of it can live: apps, games, tools, experiments, and the occasional weekend project that eats three months. The common thread is not a market category. It is me wanting software to be useful, a little playful, and not actively hostile to the person using it.
Why does it look like this?
The old web had many crimes, but it also felt like people lived there. You could tell when somebody chose the background, typed the update by hand, and spent an afternoon making a tiny button nobody requested.
I want some of that energy back, minus the autoplay MIDI and the table layout held together by prayer.
Underneath the title bars and beveled buttons, this is still responsive, accessible, and capable of remembering which windows you minimized. Modern plumbing. Old computer-room smell.
That is the plan for the devlog too: real notes when there is something worth remembering. No posting schedule. No thread about my seven-step founder mindset. Just what I built, what broke, and which bug received a promotion to feature.
